The show features an array of Big Island-grown woods with a focus on contemporary and traditional repairs.

Traditional repairs include small and large wooden plugs, pegs, poho and pewa patches. Contemporary repairs are based on the same principles as traditional repairs through the use of a wood patch to secure a natural flaw.

Artists Gregg Smith and Jim Keenan embellish the calabash and umeke forms with petroglyphs. Smith complements koa with exotic woods and uses pyrography to create his signature petroglyphs. Keenan also uses pyrographic techniques and adorns his work with color.

Dunn Gallery is located at 54-3862 Akoni Pule Highway in Kapaau.
