Brain injury group meets Wednesday
The Brain Injury Support group meets from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawaiian Rehab Services on Hualalai Road in Kailua-Kona.
Compounding pharmacist Susan Ornella will speak about the role of the compounding pharmacist, one who mixes medications for humans or pets for such applications as hormone replacement therapy, thyroid management and diabetes. Ornellas will discuss her position, how she evaluates patients’ needs and how medications are weighed and mixed.
Brain injury, stroke or other neurotrauma survivors, their families and caregivers, interested professionals and the public are invited.

Seniors group feting members’ birthdays
Kailua-Kona Seniors meets at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hale Halawai in Kailua-Kona. Members will celebrate May birthdays and enjoy a games day.

Ceremony honors police work, officers
The public is invited to help the Hawaii Police Department celebrate Police Week during a ceremony beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Kealakehe police station. The program will honor police service and pay tribute to fallen officers.
Light refreshments will be served.
Cancer support group meets Thursday
You’ll Never Walk Alone, a cancer support group, meets from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday. All cancer survivors and co-survivors are welcome to join. There is no fee and light refreshments are served.

Chamber orchestra offers free concert
The Chamber Orchestra of Kona presents a free concert at 7 p.m. Friday at Hale Halawai on Alii Drive in Kailua-Kona.
The orchestra’s new director, Michaeloha Elam, will guide the orchestra through an all-classical program, including works by Johannes Brahms, Pyotr Ilych Tchaikovsky and Antonin Dvorak.
A few benches will be available for the performance, but attendees should bring folding chairs to sit on.
The orchestra gives local musicians the opportunity and enjoyment of playing together on a regular basis while preparing for concerts. The orchestra invites interested musicians to call Anne at 325-1940.
