Big Island police are investigating a reported burglary early Wednesday at a Hilo medical clinic.
Shortly after 4 a.m. police responded to the Kaiser Permanente Hilo Clinic on Waianuenue Avenue after receiving a report of an alarm there and a separate call reporting the front entry gates to the building were damaged, according to the Hawaii Police Department.
Responding officers found the entry gates into the building’s lobby “extensively damaged” and evidence indicating a vehicle was used to gain entry, police said. Parts from a foreign vehicle were located in the debris and police have recovered video surveillance.
Police estimate damage to building at $10,000. Area I Criminal Investigations Section Lt. Gregory Esteban said no items appeared to be taken during the incident.
