Nancy Fah Manasas, 94, of Kailua-Kona, died April 8 at Life Care Center of Kona. Born Feb. 9, 1918, in Honolulu, she was a housewife.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. May 11 at Mililani Memorial Park and Mortuary, Makai Chapel in Waipio, Oahu, for a noon service. Burial to follow at 12:30 p.m. Family requests casual attire be worn and flowers omitted.
She is survived by sons, Roddy (Pat) Manasas, Randall Manasas, both of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Cassie Kawahara, of Honolulu; 11 grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 30 stepgreat-grandchildren, six stepgreat-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kathryn “Kathy” Mariko Tomita, 51, of Holualoa, died April 22 at Queen’s Medical Center. Born June 3, 1960, in Kealakekua, she was a former floral designer for the former Leslie’s Florist.

Jokin Manuel
Jokin Manuel, 64, of Captain Cook died April 9 at his residence. Born Nov. 3, 1947, in Ka‘u, he was a landscaper at the Hualalai Resort, a laborer for E.M. Rivera, a janitor for Maxwell Landing and member of South Kona Assembly of God.

He is survived by wife, Sharon Manuel, of Captain Cook; brother, George (Minerva) Manuel, of Mountain View; sister, Mary (Toshiyuki) Nakao, of Kailua-Kona; hanai son, Kaleonane Girbisi, of Kailua-Kona; hanai daughters, Mary (Manny) Kiaha, of Captain Cook, Tammi (Rollin) Rabara, of Kailua-Kona, Abbie (Nelson) Hanohano, of Laiopua, Kona, Valerie Nakao, of Las Vegas; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ruth Hatsue Nishida, 75, of Kailua-Kona, died April 24 at Kona Community Hospital. Born April 25, 1936, in Kealakekua, she was a retired office manager for Department of Transportation, Airports Division and member of Daifukuji Soto Mission.

Betsy Tomiko Uemura, 84, of Honaunau, died May 2 at her residence. Born May 10, 1927, in Kealakekua, she was a retired custodian at the Kealakekua Library, member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Keei Ward and the Honaunau Kumiai No. 1.

Robert Edward Harmon Jr., 66, of Waikoloa, died July 29. Born March 18, 1945, in Brownsville, Pa., he was an Army veteran and worked in customer assistance for General Motors.
