Big Island police are asking the public’s help locating a 20-year-old Puna man sought for questioning.

Dyson Kepano of Keaau is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 135 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair, according to the Hawaii Police Department. He is known to frequent the Puna and Hilo districts.

Police want to speak to him about several police investigations, including burglary, theft and forgery. In the cases, someone reportedly broke into homes and stole personal checks and other items. The checks were then forged and cashed, or attempted to be cashed, at banks and other Hilo establishments, according to police.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call the department’s nonemergency line at 935-3311. Those who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 329-8181 in Kona or 961-8300 in Hilo. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
