Big Island police are trying to locate the owners of property that officers recovered during burglary investigations in the Ka‘u District.
The items were recovered from suspects involved in burglaries in the Naalehu, Discovery Harbour and Green Sand areas, according to the Hawaii Police Department. The burglaries date back up to four months and some may have not been reported to police.
Police have linked some of the recovered items to four different victims. However, police are still looking for the owner or owners of 12 other items including two car stereos, five solar panels, three car batteries, one fishing reel and one arc welder, according to police.
Possible burglary victims in the affected areas are asked to call Sgt. Cory Koi or Officer John Smith at 939-2520 with a description of their property.
