Hula art on display at the Firehouse Gallery
In keeping with the Hula tradition as inspired by the Annual Merrie Monarch Festival in Hilo, April 4 through 13, the Waimea Arts Council offers an exhibit by its talented members, at the Firehouse Gallery. Oils, watercolors and acrylics are featured along with various other media. The display includes fabric lei and offerings of other objects in the tradition of “Na Mea Hawaii.”
The Waimea Arts Council is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the encouragement of local artists and to the enlightenment and education of those interested in the arts. Hours vary but are usually from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Call to inquire at 887-1052. Park behind the senior center at the rear of the gallery.
