Alvin “Mouse” Joseph Thompson, 54, of Hawi, died March 26 at his residence. Born March 14, 1958, in Clark AFB, Philippines, he was a groundskeeper for Waikoloa Beach Marriott and former paddler for Kawaihae Canoe Club.

He is survived by wife, Julia Thompson, of Hawi; sons, Justin Thompson and Shane Thompson, both of Hawi; daughter, Kealani Thompson, of Hawi; mother, Frances Thompson, of Hawi; brothers, Michael (Gail) Moniz, of Auburn, Wash., Rex (Sheri) Thompson, of Hawi; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
