Patrick Inouye teaches beginner ukulele lessons for adults at Volcano Art Center. His Beginning One class meets at 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays and is for students with little or no ukulele playing experience. Inouye teaches how to properly handle the ukulele and the most basic chords and strums.

The Beginning Two class is for students who have completed Beginning One or already have a basic knowledge of ukulele playing. Inouye adds more chords, strums, and songs.

Wes Awana leads a course designed for the intermediate player, offering hands-on lessons and free-form, experimental jam sessions. This class is held at 5:30 p.m. every Tuesday and is followed by a weekly Kanikapila Jam Session. The jam session begins at 6:30 p.m.
