Howard’s Nurseries and Foodland have come together to help support Easter Seals Hawaii with the annual “Lilies for Abilities.”

Every lily plant purchased at any Foodland or Sack ‘N Save throughout the state, now through April 8 will provide a $1 donation to Easter Seals Hawaii. The lilies are grown locally at Howard’s Nurseries in Kula, Maui, and are available for $8.99 each.

Howard Takishita, owner of Howard’s Nurseries Inc., found a way to support Easter Seals Hawaii. Takishita has a passion for the organization, and the annual “Lilies for Abilities” is a gift from the heart. As a

young boy, Takishita was the first child on Maui to be diagnosed with polio, and it was the Easter Seals Hawaii Early Intervention program that helped provide therapy and support for him and his family all those years ago.
