c Elijah Lawson, 27, of Kailua-Kona, pleaded guilty Feb. 27 to third-degree assault and exclusion of an intoxicated person from premises. He received a one-year deferred acceptance of his plea with conditions that he pay $285 in fees, serve 30 days incarceration, with credit for time served and all but three days suspended, and write a letter of apology to the victim.
c Collins Kapono Manago, 28, of Kona, pleaded guilty Jan. 23 to abuse of a family or household member. He was sentenced Feb. 29 to two years probation with conditions that he pay $205 in fees, serve 90 days incarceration, with credit for time served and all but 120 hours suspended, perform 32 community service hours, and write a letter of apology to the victim.
c Philip Ryan Smith, 34, of Kailua-Kona, pleaded guilty Feb. 29 to third-degree promoting a dangerous drug and possessing drug paraphernalia. He received a five-year deferred acceptance of his plea with conditions that he pay $2,860 in fines and fees, and serve 90 days incarceration, with credit for time served and all remaining time suspended.
c Randall K. Masutomi, 51, of Kealakekua, pleaded guilty March 7 to abuse of a family or household member and first-degree criminal property damage. He received a five-year deferred acceptance of his plea with conditions that he pay $810 in fines and fees, serve six months incarceration for the abuse offense and one year for the property damage offense, with credit for time served and all but 30 days suspended, obtain a substance abuse assessment, enter a domestic violence intervention program, complete a parenting class within one year and write a letter of apology to the victim.
c Yasushi Arakaki Jr., also known as Yasushi Kaleohano-Arakaki, 52, of Captain Cook, pleaded guilty March 7 to first-degree criminal trespassing. He was sentenced to pay $55 in fees and received credit for incarceration served between October and March.
c Chance V. Letreta, 33, of Kailua-Kona, pleaded guilty March 8 to felony abuse of a family or household member, abuse of a family or household member, and second-degree terroristic threatening. He was sentenced to five years probation for the felony abuse offense and one year probation for the misdemeanor abuse and terroristic threatening offenses with conditions that he pay $865 in fines and fees, serve one year incarceration for the felony abuse offense and six months incarceration for the other two offenses with credit for time served and all but 90 days suspended. He must also write a letter of apology to the victim.
