West Hawaii keiki experienced Sunday’s Child Foundation’s Spring Break Eco-Adventure Camp, thanks to the generous donations of local supporters of the Kamalii Ohana Program. Thirty children involved in the program organized by SCF, a local nonprofit that helps at-risk children in our community, were able to paddle a canoe or pet dolphins during the camp. The children also explored tidal pools and marveled at the catch of local fishermen.

“If we can add to a child’s wonderment and enhance their awareness of the beauty the world holds, I believe we can influence a child to make more positive choices for their lives,” said Lauren Rainier, the foundation’s executive director. “Our survival as a community depends upon it.”
