Big Island police are asking the public’s help identifying a man involved in an alleged Jan. 7 burglary in Puna.

The theft occured at a residence on Hanalei Drive in the Ainaloa Subdivision, according to Hawaii Police Department.

Police responded after witnesses reported three people engaged in suspicious activity. At the scene, police arrested two Pahoa men, ages 22 and 20, on suspicion of first-degree burglary. They were later released without charges pending further investigation, according to police.

The third man reportedly fled on foot. He is described as being in his early 20s with dark brown skin, black hair and a medium to heavy-set build. He was wearing a red shirt, beige shorts, a black cap and slippers.
