c Christopher T. Brown, 25, of Kailua-Kona, pleaded guilty Dec. 6 to driving under the influence of an intoxicant. He was sentneced March 5 to pay $437 in fees, referred to a driver’s education course, ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment, and enter a substance abuse rehabilitation program. He must also serve an unspecified amount of jail time.
c Reynaldo Melendez, 39, of Kailua-Kona, pleaded guilty March 5 to driving under the influence of an intoxicant and inattention to driving. He was sentenced to pay $1,074 in fines and fees, referred to a driver’s education course, ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment, and enter a substance abuse rehabilitation program.
c Rodney K. Kamaka Jr., 42, of Kailua-Kona, pleaded guilty March 5 to driving under the influence of an intoxicant, storing an open container of liquor at a scenic lookout and failure to have no-fault motor vehicle insurance. He was sentenced to pay $1,131 in fines and fees, in addition to an undisclosed fine, referred to a driver’s education course and ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment.
c Jason Allen Nobriga, 38, of Holualoa, pleaded no contest March 5 to driving under the influence of an intoxicant and inattention to driving. He was sentenced to pay $1,074 in fines and fees, referred to a driver’s education course and ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment.
c Francis Livai, 35, of Naalehu, pleaded guilty March 7 to driving under the influence of an intoxicant, driving with an improper license, failure to have no-fault motor vehicle insurance and consuming or possessing an intoxicating liquor while operating a motor vehicle. He was sentenced to pay $1,058 in fines and fees, referred to a driver’s education course, ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment, and enter a substance abuse rehabilitation program. He must also serve an unspecified amount of jail time and her license was revoked.
c Justin Tyler Sims, 32, of Honaunau, pleaded no contest March 8 to driving under the influence of an intoxicant. He was sentenced to pay $937 in fines and fees, referred to a driver’s education course, ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment, and enter a substance abuse rehabilitation program. His license was also revoked.
