The future bride is a former Ms. Kona Coffee and graduated from the University of Hawaii at Hilo. She is the founder and executive director of Hokulani Arts & Creative Learning Center, a nonprofit organization for at-risk teens in Kona.
The future groom received a master’s degree in public and private management from the Yale School of Organization and Management and a master’s degree in environmental science in resource economics from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.
He is the general partner of the Ulupono Intitative, investing in renewable energy, local food and other sustainable ventures in Hawaii.
The wedding is planned for May 2012.
