Phoebe Whitney Aguiar, 86, of Mountain View, died March 9 at home. Born Dec. 2, 1925, in Pahoa, she was a retired American Red Cross lab specialist.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. March 15 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo, where a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. A graveside committal service begins at 9 a.m. March 16 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. The family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.
She is survived by sons, Herbert (Sri) Aguiar, of Pahoa, Michael Aguiar, of Glenwood, Thomas (Michelle) Aguiar, of Ohio; daughter, Antonia Marcum, of Mountain View; three grandchildren.

William Amolato
William “Tek” R. Amolato, 79, of Keaau, died Feb. 24 at Hilo Medical Center. Born May 15, 1932, in Hawaii, he was retired from the former Ka’u Sugar Co. and a Grace Baptist Church member.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. March 17 at Grace Baptist Church, 2575 Kilauea Ave. in Hilo. The family requests casual attire be worn.
He is survived by daughter, Annalee Muranaka, of Honokaa; sons, William Amalato, of Honolulu, Bernard Amalato, of Los Angeles, Cliff (Min) Amalato, of Paauilo; brothers, Abraham Amalato, of Reno, Nev., Alvin Amalato, of Marion, Ohio; sister, Jessie Marks, of Waimanalo, Oahu; 19 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Raylene “Tutu” “Kumu” Haalelea Kawaiaea, 61, of Kapaau, died March 9 at Kona Community Hospital. Born June 3, 1950, in Honolulu, she was a Queen Liliuokalani Children’s Center building facilitator, Hawaiian culture preserver, Na Huapala O Hawaii Halau O Haalelea Hula Halau founder and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints member.
Friends may call at 1 p.m. March 17 at Kamehameha Park Gym in Kapaau for a 3 p.m. memorial service. Condolences may be sent in her memory to Maile Hawkins at P.O. Box 4994, Kailua-Kona, HI 96745. The family requests casual attire be worn. Lei are welcome.

Satoru Matsuzaki, 81, of Papaikou, died March 9 at Hilo Medical Center. Born Jan. 19, 1931, in Papaikou, he was a retired Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation truck driver, Hilo Hooganji Mission member, Kalaoa Kumiai member and Gray Line Co. supervisor.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. March 17 at Hilo Hooganji Mission, 457 Manono St. Memorial service begins at 10 a.m. The family requests casual attire be worn.

Rodney “Pancho” Robinson Freitas, 60, of Pahala, died Feb. 22 at Hilo Medical Center. Born Dec. 29, 1951, in Kiolakaa Homestead, Ka’u, he was a Foodland Supermarket fish cutter, former Kawaihae Ranch rancher and commercial fisherman.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 17 at Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where the eulogy begins at 12:30 p.m. and a funeral Mass starts at 1 p.m. Gathering to follow at the residence of Rodney Freitas, 96-3189 Pikake St. in Pahala. The family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.
