Police on Saturday identified the 61-year-old woman who died Friday in a one-vehicle crash on Kohala Mountain Road in South Kohala.

Police on Saturday identified the 61-year-old woman who died Friday in a one-vehicle crash on Kohala Mountain Road in South Kohala.

The victim was identified as Raylene Kawaiaea, of Hawi, according to the Hawaii Police Department.

Kawaiaea was headed southbound on Kohala Mountain Road when she apparently lost control of her pickup truck, crossed the center line and struck a tree near mile marker 9, according to police. She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the 2:35 p.m. crash.
