Wailoa renovation hits a snag

Wailoa Art and Cultural Center has been closed for some much-needed renovations. It is in the process of installing new electrical wiring, painting the building inside and out, fixing the interior fountain and refinishing the floors in the office, Fountain Gallery and outside lanai.

Because of some difficulty with the delivery of the light fixtures on the manufacturer’s end, the renovation is at a standstill with the electrical phase of the project and there have been some delays with the refinishing of the floors.

As a result of these unresolved projects, the center is postponing the Wood Turners Exhibit for the month of March, including the opening reception today. After exploring alternative ways to open the display, safety concerns and not being able to provide the viewer with a satisfactory experience contributed to the decision to postpone the exhibit.
