Toga! The Innovations Public Charter School community celebrated its volunteers recently with a toga-themed mahalo celebration held on the school campus. The annual event is an opportunity to thank the many volunteers who give their time, expertise and assistance throughout the year.
Decked-out in cotton sheets fashioned into togas, gold sashes, green ivy headbands and jewelry, volunteers were treated to Greek music, Olympic-style games and pupu-style finger foods. Games such as Mercury’s Marathon, Discus Throw and Warrior Wipe-out entertained volunteers both young and old in the spirit of Olympic competition, while a Greek version of musical chairs entertained the audience as competitors sought to be the last person “sitting.”
