Saturday event benefits yoga center
The public is invited to a screening of “Yoga Woman” at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu. Entry is by donation. The event is a benefit for Big Island Yoga Center, a Hawaii nonproft corporation. The event will begin at noon at the theater with a silent auction.
Interested participants are also invited to attend the Big Island Yoga Center’s level I donation-only yoga class from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at the center in Kealakekua.

‘Live in HD’ features Australian opera
The musical, “Love Never Dies,” by Andrew Lloyd Weber, will be shown for the first time in the U.S. during the “Live in HD” program beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Makalapua Cinemas.
“Love Never Dies” is the sequel to “Phantom of the Opera” and comes directly from its production in Melbourne, Australia.

Vog task force meeting in Pahala
Hawaii County Civil Defense is seeking public input on vog’s impact to Hawaii Island.
The Interagency Vog Task Force, which falls under the auspices of civil defense, will hold an information-gathering meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Pahala Community Center. The meeting is solely for the task force to gather input and concerns from residents, said John Drummond, civil defense administrative officer.
Information gathered during the meeting will then be taken back to the task force for review, he said. Two similar meetings have been held in Hilo.
