Flora Mitchell
Flora Carvalho Mitchell, 79, of Mountain View, died Jan. 26 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Paauilo, she was a housewife.
Friends may call at 5 p.m. Feb. 16 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 6 p.m. celebration of life. Family requests casual attire be worn.
She is survived by daughter, Joan Villanueva, of Mountain View; sons, Glen Subica, Robert Subica, Richard (Evageline) Subica and Derek Pagan, all of Mountain View; brother, Jules (Betty Joyce) Carvalho Jr., of Colton, Calif.; hanai sister, Gwen Kepaa, of Keaau; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Mabel Liborio
Mabel “Bertha” Marie Liborio, 78, of Hilo, died Feb. 7 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired food preparer with the former Sky Chef in Hilo and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Private services were held.
She is survived by husband, John Liborio, of Hilo; son, Darryl (Charlotte) Liborio Sr., of Hilo; daughters, Gail (Joey) Akaka, of Hilo, Gwendolyn (Victor) DeLapaz, of Minnesota; 20 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Benjamin Solywoda
Benjamin Thomas Solywoda, 96, of Hilo, died Feb. 3 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Haydenville, Mass., he was a retired tool and die maker and member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3830, American Legion Post 3, Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.
Memorial Services will be announced and held at a later date. Family requests no flowers. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Hilo Medical Center Foundation, 1190 Waianuenue Ave., Hilo, HI 96720.
He is survived by wife, Alice Solywoda, of Hilo; sons, Thomas (Marian) Solywoda, of Keaau, Andrew (Dottie) Solywoda, of Pasadena, Md., Barry (Pia) Solywoda, of Honolulu, Philip (Val) Solywoda, of Hilo; daughters, Lucille (Jan) Horak, of Scottsdale, Ariz., Donna (Augie) Rodriguez, of Costa Mesa, Calif., Lois (John) McGuire, of Mountain View; brother, Walter (Helen) Soliwoda, of West Grove, Pa.; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Ronald “Ron” Earl Van Scoy, 73, of Ocean View, died Feb. 1 at his residence. Born Feb. 11, 1938, in Westover, N.Y., he was a retired computer software engineer.

He is survived by wife, Brenda Van Scoy, of Ocean View.
