Team of planners forms new company
An experienced local team of public and private sector planners has recently formed Solutions Pacific LLC. Company president Ray Soon made the announcement.
“Hawaii’s planning community is efficient and large, but it often does not provide a strong insight into the appropriate balancing of growth and cultural needs. There are many community concerns regarding the sustainability of Hawaii’s quality of life and infrastructure issues — road mobility, affordable housing, burdens on parks and natural resources, threats to historic sites among others,” Soon said.
“Solutions Pacific, LLC was formed to address those concerns by providing culturally sensitive and actionable planning/project implementation services to private and public sector companies in Hawaii and the Pacific,” said Soon. “We are also strong believers in collaborating with other organizations that may have more specialized skills which can bring us to more appropriate solutions.”
The management team has a combined experience of 30 years in government planning leadership positions and 20 years of private experience.
A graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Soon also holds a master’s of city planning degree from Harvard University. He has served as director of the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands and as vice president of community relations and communications at Kamehameha Schools. More recently, Soon has been a consultant to private and public sector landowners.
Solutions Pacific LLC is a majority Hawaiian-owned corporation and is affiliated with SMS, Hawaii’s largest and most experienced research and consulting company.
