Hula Girl offers new hot sauces

Hula Girl Hot Sauce’s new Hot Honey Wing and Smokin’ BBQ sauces are now available in Big Island KTA SuperStores. Other island retailers such as Hula Bean on Alii Drive and Made On The Big Island in King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel in Kailua-Kona and the Taro Patch in Honaunau have also jumped on board.

Last summer owners Jill Inforzato and Roger Simpson attended America’s Zesty Best Celebrity Food Show at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Orange, Calif., in June where Hula Girl won a first-place trophy for its new Hot Honey Wing Sauce. In the highly competitive barbecue sauce category, the new Hula Girl Smokin’ BBQ Sauce captured third place. Simpson’s label graphics also took third place in the national competition.


Yeo promoted at American Savings Bank

American Savings Bank has promoted Peter Yeo from assistant vice president to vice president and commercial real estate loan officer.

Yeo has been working in the banking industry for about 10 years, having started as a researcher in American Savings Bank’s appraisal department in 1990. Yeo is proficient in Mandarin and fluent in the major Chinese dialects, including Cantonese.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance at the University of Hawaii. He is a current member of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii and the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce.

Kukuipahu Ranch joins angus association

Kukuipahu Ranch LLC, Hawi, is a new member of the American Angus Association, said John Crouch, executive vice president of the national breed registry organization in Saint Joseph, Mo.
