Horner is a native of Hawaii and a graduate of Kamehameha Schools. He also earned his bachelor of arts in economics degree from Northwestern University.

Horner appointed resort’s general manager

Paul Horner has been appointed general manager of the Outrigger-managed Keauhou Beach Resort. Horner replaces Gregg Enright, who recently transferred to Kauai as regional director of condominium operations on Kauai in addition to assuming the role of general manager of the Outrigger Waipouli Beach Resort and Spa.

In his position, Horner oversees the day-to-day management of the hotel and its staff. He also plans, organizes and directs all hotel services..

Horner has an extensive background in hospitality management, most recently as general manager of the Carneros Inn in California. During his tenure, Horner guided this luxury resort through a $50 million expansion resulting in the Carneros Inn being rated the No. 11 Resort in the United States by Conde Nast Traveler in its 2007 Reader’s Poll while its spa was rated No. 16 in the United States.

Prior to the Carneros Inn, Horner spent 12 years with Castle and Cooke Resorts, where he gained front line knowledge in the implementation of stringent standards for first-class, luxury hospitality while working as general manager for the Manele Bay Hotel and as hotel manager of the award-winning Lodge at Koele.
