The shirts were created to commemorate the Oct. 15 earthquakes and features a Richter scale graphic on the front and states “I Survived The Quakes, The Hawaiian Islands Hula” on the back, along with the date, times and magnitudes of the quakes. Proceeds from quake T-shirt sales benefit school
Honolulu-based Crazy Shirts will donate $6,000 in proceeds from the sale of its “Hula Quake” commemorative T-shirt to Waikoloa Elementary School to assist in its rebuilding and recovery efforts.
“As a local company, we felt that it was important to provide assistance to those who were most affected by the October 15 earthquakes,” said Mark Hollander, chief executive officer and president of Crazy Shirts. “Our retail employees on each island decided which charitable organization they wanted to support. All of our staff, on all of the Islands, agreed that Waikoloa Elementary School, on the Big Island, needed the most support to help rebuild the campus for its students.”
