The new Kona Volkswagen and Hyundai dealership will hold its official grand opening Saturday at its Palani Road location in Kailua-Kona. There will be free balloons, pupus and sodas from 8:30 a.m. until the celebration is over at sunset. For the keiki, there will be a free party bouncer.
Music for the all-day party will be provided by Kutmaster Spaz, club deejay from Honolulu and host of OC 17’s “Dis n’ Dat” weekly TV show. An appearance from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. of KAPA radio’s Tommy “Kahikina” Ching will be highlighted by live remote broadcasts from the site.
A one-day drawing for a trip to Las Vegas for two will be held Saturday afternoon. Every driver who takes a test ride in either a new or used car, truck or sport utility vehicle gets to put their name in the hat for the 6 p.m. drawing.
To celebrate the grand opening, all remaining 2006 models will be offered at factory invoice prices, with original factory pricing on their windshields. All used cars, trucks and SUVs will be priced at Kelly Blue Book wholesale prices for Saturday only.
Hessy Ahokovi and Lance Lizares, the new owners of the former McKenna Motorcars, come from a background of service for VWs, Porsches, Audi and other European vehicles.
