Lau named director of sales, marketing

Hawaii sales veteran Rodney Lau has been named the new director of sales and marketing at Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows. Lau comes to Mauna Lani from the Marriott Resort Hawaii on Kauai, where he was regional associate director of sales.

Lau’s extensive sales experience includes stints as director of sales at Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club, Princeville Resort, The Orchid at Mauna Lani, the Ritz-Carlton, Mauna Lani, the Hyatt Regency of Waikoloa and the Hyatt Regency, Waikiki.


Central Pacific Bank inks new contracts

Central Pacific Bank has announced new advertising and public relations contracts with Matsumoto and Clapperton Advertising and Hastings and Pleadwell: A Communication Company.

Ed Clapperton, president of Matsumoto and Clapperton, said they are looking forward to working with Central Pacific Bank.

Matsumoto and Clapperton clients include C.S. Wo, Waikiki Beach Walk, Ala Moana Hotel, The Wyland Waikiki, 15 Craigside and Arcadia retirement communities.

Ironman competitors invited on free cruise

Fair Wind, Big Island Ocean Guides, extends a free Fair Wind cruise offer to all 2008 Ironman competitors traveling to the Big Island this fall. This free 2 to 5:30 p.m. cruise is available to eligible Ironman participants beginning Oct. 4 through 9.

To receive the free cruise, athletes must provide reasonable proof of Ironman 2008 participation and be accompanied by one full-fare adult.
