Author appearing at Na Oli Books and Gifts

Nu Oli Books and Gifts hosts an afternoon with author Max Lucado and book signing with him from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at Nu Oli Books and Gifts in the Kona International Market.

Lucado is an accomplished writer who has written best-selling books such as “In the grip of Grace,” “When God Whispers your name,” “It’s not about me” and “Come Thirsty.” His latest book is “Cure for the Common Life.”

The author serves as senior pastor of the Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas.


Carper is named ‘Outstanding Employer’

In celebration of Mental Health Awareness month, Judy Carper, human resource director of Huggo’s and Huggo’s on The Rocks, received an “Outstanding Employer” award from the Mental Health Association of Hawaii. The award recognizes an individual whose leadership in personnel and industry policies have positively affected the mental health community.
