Ride planned for Father’s Day at Parker Ranch

Cowboys of Hawaii at Parker Ranch and Paniolo Preservation Society’s Waiomina Centennial present a 160th anniversary historic trail ride and barbecue on Father’s Day, June 17, at Parker Ranch. There is still availability for riders with their own horses (reservations have filled up for those renting horses from Cowboys of Hawaii).

The Father’s Day ride will begin at Pukalani Stables at 9 a.m. and travel past the Puuhihale home corral to Puu Holoholoku returning approximately 1 p.m. to the stables for a wrangler-style barbecue. During the ride, trail guides will share their historical knowledge of the area with stops along the way to “talk story” about the area. At the turnaround, drinks and snacks will be provided.

For riders participating with their own horse (no stallions are allowed), the cost is $35. Non-riders are welcome to join the group after the ride for the barbecue at Pukalani Stables. Lunch cost is $30 and advanced reservations are required.
