Free skin cancer screenings offered
Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer, accounting for about half of all the cancers. Annual skin screenings are essential for good skin health, especially in Hawaii with the great amount of sun exposure residents come in contact with during their daily routines. Even overexposure through windows in homes, offices and cars can affect skin health.
To kick off Skin Cancer Awareness Month, Dr. Monica Scheel, of Pacifica Integrative Skin Wellness Institute, and Paul Streiter, of Jackie Rey’s Ohana Grill, are teaming up to present “Pau Hana Friday with Skin Cancer Screenings.” This free event will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday at Jackie Rey’s Ohana Grill, 75-5995 Kuakini Highway. Jackie Rey’s will be providing complimentary pupus, while Scheel and her staff will be offering free skin cancer screenings, sun protection education and samples.
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend this event. Skin screenings will be given on a first-come, first-served basis for the duration of the three-hour event.
