Kona Wellness Center planning open house
Kona Wellness Center is offering an open house from noon to 1 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 22 to welcome Shanon Sidell, naturopathic physician to the practice. Pupus will be served.
Complimentary introductory consultations with Sidell will be available from 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 22 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 23.
Sidell majored in naturopathic medicine at Bastyr University in Washington with an emphasis in women’s health care and oncology. She completed a portion of her clinical training at Highline Cancer Hospital in Seattle, as well as at a private women’s health care and maternity clinic.
Kona Wellness Center, which shares the same parking lot as The Club, was established in 2006 by Nancy Lins, ND. Since opening, it has grown to house six practitioners including Lins, Sidell, Jeffrey Cooper, ND, Linda Hole, ND, licensed acupuncturist Keith Anderson and Valerie Smyth, licensed massage therapist/colon hydrotherapist.
Pillsbury earns child development credential
Shanya Pillsbury of Kailua-Kona has been awarded a child development associate credential in recognition of outstanding work with young children. The credential was awarded by the Council for Professional Recognition in Washington, D.C., which represents the early childhood education profession.
CDA is the only major national effort to improve early children education and care by evaluation and recognition the skills of individuals providing care. The first credential was awarded more than 30 years ago, and now 49 states plus the District of Columbia include CDA in their child care licensing regulations.
Pillsbury is employed at Creative Day Preschool.
