Established on Oct. 16, 1936, the credit union has grown from 10 coffee farmers in a tiny Kealakekua office into five branches with a membership of more than 33,000.
Credit union members and the public can join the celebration and have birthday cake at its branches. Members are encouraged to bring in old photos, mementos and stories for the credit union’s online “Celebrating Memories” Web page.
The Market Day offers a holiday shopping opportunity featuring crafts as well as fresh produce, plants and baked goods. Proceeds from Market Day will benefit the credit union’s designated charity — the Friends of the Children’s Justice Center of West Hawaii.
