Kona Stories, AdvoCats team up for benefit
Kona Stories is celebrating its first anniversary during November. The store has worked all year with AdvoCats raising money and neutering feral cats in its neighborhood.
On Nov. 10, Kona Stories and AdvoCats will be hosting a fundraiser to benefit AdvoCats at Mango Court. Kona Stories will be selling used books and AdvoCats will be selling gifts and crafts for Christmas. All proceeds will be donated to AdvoCats.
Anyone interested in donating books for the sale should bring them to Kona Stories by Nov. 9.

Kealakekua Ranch Center plans event
The public is invited to bring the family and enjoy a day in the country at the Kealakekua Ranch Center Country Fair and Music Concert from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3. Keiki may view a free roping demonstration by Kings Trail Rides and free pony rides. Dave Toland will play live from 10:30 a.m. to noon. There will be inflatable bouncers, free popcorn and a corn husking competition.
Cooks are invited to enter the pie or cake contest for Kealakekua’s best home-baked dessert. All pies or cakes must be brought to the stage by 10 a.m. Winners could win more than $100 in prizes.
All ages are welcomed for a line dancing demonstration and class by Bill and Violet Ray. They can also support Friends of the Libraries, Kona) by browsing through the books and purchasing them.
AdvoCats members will also be at the fair, encouraging the public to have its cats neutered. Cat adoptions will also be available that day.
The event is sponsored by the Kealakekua Ranch Center Association.
