Verizon expands network in Oceanview area
Wireless users in Oceanview are now experiencing increased coverage, capacity and capabilities thanks to a new Verizon Wireless cell site. The benefits extend to Hawaiian Rancheros, Highway 11 east of Manuka State Park, South Point and west of South Point Road.
“We’ve invested more than $100 million in our wireless network in Hawaii over the past five years to add new capabilities, stay ahead of the growth in demand for our products and services, and further enhance reliability.”
The company’s launch of its EV-DO network in the islands is one of the most recent examples of Verizon Wireless’ commitment to provide new capabilities for residents and visitors to the state. Customers on Oahu, Maui, the Big Island, Lanai and Kauai can now access the latest high-speed business and entertainment services — including BroadbandAccess Internet access, V CAST video and V CAST Music — on their wireless phones, laptop computers and other wireless devices. They join more than 150 million people covered by Verizon Wireless’ national EV-DO network.

Serving the Kona/Kohala area for the past 17 years, the move from the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel to the Kona Plaza Shopping Arcade will better serve the residents and tourists of Kona in a more convenient location.
Ele Jay Jewelers provides a selection of fine jewelry and repair services, including watch battery changes. It opened for business in its new location on Jan. 2 after being at the Hapuna Beach Prince hotel for the last five years.
