Silk painting class scheduled in Keauhou

Pele’s Hokulele Gallery at Keauhou Shopping Center is hosting “Paint Your Own Silk Scarf” from noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 17.

Participants will stretch a 9-by-54-inch crepe scarf on a frame, talk colors and techniques, mix dyes and paint the scarf. Students will also make a sampler painting on China silk with a wax tool and dyes. The fee is $58 plus $8 for materials.

Commerical real estate firm opens in Kona

Bishop Street Commercial, a Hawaii commercial real estate firm, has opened a Kona office. Senior real estate consultant and Kona resident Scott Garmon will be managing director of the Hawaii Island operation, which is located at the Kailua Trade Center, 75-5706 Hamana Place, Kailua-Kona.

The Kona client list is expanding and includes listings for Gold Coast Industrial Center and the Lenders Document Office Building.
