Doctor coming to Naalehu clinic

Dr. Doede Donaugh will be joining the Bay Clinic team to help serve the health needs of the Ka’u community at Bay Clinic’s Ka’u Family Health Center site in Naalehu.

This hiring is part of Bay Clinic’s ongoing efforts to improve the quality and availability of health care in Ka’u through provider retention as well as the construction of the new Ka’u Family Health Center.

“I enjoy osteopathic medicine, and incorporating true mind, body, spirit philosophy in a holistic approach to patient care and education,” said Donaugh.

“Dr. Donaugh’s experience will be an added bonus over the next 24 to 36 months as Bay Clinic completes construction on the new Ka’u Family Health Venter. She will help ensure this site meets the comprehensive primary health needs of the Ka’u community,” said Paul Strauss, Bay Clinic CEO.

Bay Clinic’s Ka’u staff currently operates out of a more than 70 year-old plantation home poorly equipped for medical purposes. The new plantation-style building will include facilities for medical, dental, behavioral health and social support services. The staff currently serve 5,000 patient visits per year. The new facility should double the staff and available visits, vastly increasing health care access in Ka’u.
