Core strength and stretch class offered
Curves in Kona is offering a Core Strength and Stretch class, which is great for those wanting a tighter midsection, a better back and improved posture and alignment.
The class focuses on core stabilization, functional balance and mobility, as well as improved coordination. The instructor, Joanna Weber, incorporates in her training exercises that address and challenge the proprioceptive demands of the core and trunk, musculoskeletal imbalances and functional flexibility. The class is $5 for Curves members and $6 for nonmembers.

Kealia Ranch Store offers recipe round-up
The Kealia Ranch Store in Captain Cook is hosting its first recipe round-up.
The roundup will run from August through December. Each entry will be judged by its unique Paniolo name, proper marinating, cooking procedures and variety of ingredients (available at any store) used to create the ultimate flavor. All recipes chosen during the roundup will be announced by Dec. 25 on the store’s beef bulletin board.
Entry cards and beef choice may be picked up from the store from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or Saturday afternoons at mile marker 101.
