The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a high surf advisory for the Big Island’s west-facing shores through 6 p.m. Thursday.
The service said waves, expected to subside today, could range in height from 6 feet to 10 feet. However, a larger northwest swell is expected to reach the island tonight and peak on Wednesday.
