Wayan Padilla DeCosta, 21, of Lahaina, Maui, died Jan. 24 in Lahaina. Born in Hilo, he worked as a server at the 5 Palms restaurant in Lahaina.

Mae Akamu, 92, of Kailua, Oahu, died Jan. 19 at her residence. Born Aug. 18, 1919, in Honolulu, she was a retired elementary school teacher.
Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 4 at Kauahaao Congregational Church in Waiohinu for a 10 a.m. service. Burial will be private. Family requests aloha attire be worn and no flowers.

James “JR” Frederick Rogers, 63, of Kailua-Kona, died Jan. 13 at his residence. Born July 9, 1948, in Cranston, R.I., he was the owner of James F. Rogers Certified Public Accountant Inc. and member of Kona Mauka Rotary Club, Mokuaikaua Congregational Church and Keauhou Canoe Club.

Thomas “Tom” Hansen Brennan, 80, of Holualoa, died Nov. 21 at his residence. Born Sept. 29, 1931, in Green Bay, Wis., he was a general contractor and Holualoa community volunteer.

Clarissa Taeko Saiki Kuniyoshi, 83, of Hilo, died Jan. 19 at her home. Born July 4, 1928, in Kilauea, Kauai, she was a retired Hilo High School teacher.
