At the end of the sales event period, Hawaii Wildlife Fund received 45 percent of all votes and earned an additional $5,000. In total, Subaru Hawaii will be donating $11,700 to Hawaii Wildlife Fund.

Higashi, Van Winkle-Mascari join team at Sheraton resort

Pyramid Hotel Group has appointed Kimberly Higashi as catering and convention services manager and Laura Van Winkle-Mascari as senior sales manager at Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa.

Higashi grew up in Waipahu, Oahu, and is a graduate of the University of Hawaii’s School of Travel Industry Management. A Hawaii Island resident for 11 years, Higashi gained hospitality management experience in a variety of guest service positions first at the Waikiki Beachcomber in Honolulu and most recently as catering and conference services manager at Mauna Kea Resort. Higashi will be focusing her attention on weddings and celebrations at Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa.

Van Winkle-Mascari has more than 15 years of hotel and resort sales experience garnered at several premier properties in Southern California including the Newport Beach Conference and Visitors Bureau and The Balboa Bay Club and Resort. She holds an associate degree in business administration from Ventura College in Ventura, Calif. As senior sales manager, Van Winkle-Mascari will be focusing solicitations on the corporate meetings, conventions and associations markets.


Subaru raises $2,300 for Humane Society

Subaru Hawaii’s “Share the Love” sales event has raised $2,300 for Hawaii Island Humane Society.

The sales event donated $250 for every new vehicle sold by Subaru Hawaii dealers from Nov. 1 to Dec. 31. In total, the Share the Love event raised $25,300 for a group of causes. In addition to Hawaii Island Humane Society, the other four nonprofits were Hawaii Wildlife Fund, SPCA Maui, Hawaii Literacy and Oahu SPCA.
