Hiring center opening for Kapolei Walmart

KAPOLEI, Oahu — Walmart is opening a temporary hiring center in Kapolei to bring on about 300 people to work at a new store.

The hiring center will take applications for both full- and part-time associate positions for all areas of the new Walmart store, including supervisory positions.

The discount retailer said the new store is slated to open in the spring.

The company said it will be filling jobs with competitive wages and benefits. The hiring center will accept applications from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays to Fridays, and online applications may be completed at walmartstores.com/Careers.


Libraries closed for holiday

All public libraries will be closed Monday in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Kailua-Kona Public Library, Thelma Parker Memorial Public & School Library and Hilo Public Library are among the 12 libraries statewide that will also be closed Tuesday.
