SPECIAL TO WEST HAWAII TODAY
When Liane Carroll takes the stage Jan. 14 at The Fairmont Orchid, the audience will not only experience her renowned jazz artistry, they can also make a positive difference in the lives of young artists from Hawaii.
Liane Carroll is back by popular demand, performing on behalf of Hawaii Performing Arts Festival for the third consecutive year. Starting in September, fans start inquiring about her next performance.
In addition to being one of the top jazz artists in the world, the two-time BBC Jazz Artist of the Year cares deeply about mentoring and advising young artists.
The event benefits the festival’s scholarship program for young artists from Hawaii to attend the 2012 summer festival in Waimea July 1 through 22.
Admission price is $55 per person for the concert and silent auction only, or $75 for concert ticket including two drinks (wine or beer) plus a light island-inspired meal, featuring teriyaki chicken, salted salmon, furikake jasmine rice and sesame greens.
