James made one of two free throws with 36 seconds left to give Cleveland that one-point lead. The Celtics then lost the ball out of bounds, but Kyrie Irving missed a layup and Avery Bradley rebounded for Boston, which called timeout with 7 seconds to go.
But the Celtics couldn’t get a shot off as Rajon Rondo, who finished with 16 assists, lost control of his dribble near the top of the key just before the final buzzer sounded.
Irving had 27 points and Kevin Love added 12 points and 15 rebounds for the Cavaliers.
Kelly Olynyk led Boston with a season-high 21 points.
SPURS 93, LAKERS 80
LOS ANGELES — Tim Duncan had 13 points and 11 rebounds, Cory Joseph scored eight of his 14 points in the fourth quarter and the Spurs earned their third straight victory in California.
Kawhi Leonard scored 12 points for the defending NBA champions, who added a comfortable win over the 1-8 Lakers to their impressive victories over the Clippers and Warriors earlier in the week.
San Antonio pulled away in the fourth quarter for its eighth win in 11 meetings with the Lakers.
Kobe Bryant scored nine points for the Lakers, going 1 for 14 in one of the worst shooting games of his 19-year NBA career.

OKLAHOMA CITY — Brandon Jennings scored 25 of his 29 points in the second half and overtime, leading the Detroit past Oklahoma city.
Jennings made a tiebreaking 3-pointer to give the Pistons an 87-84 lead with 2:32 left in overtime. He added another 3 while falling to the ground, increasing the advantage to 92-84.
Jeremy Lamb set career highs with 24 points and 10 rebounds for Oklahoma City, which led 48-42 at halftime. Reggie Jackson had 20 points and 12 assists, and Serge Ibaka finished with 19 points and 10 boards.

ATLANTA — Paul Millsap and Al Horford each scored 19 points to help Atlanta to its fourth straight win.
With star guard Dwyane Wade hobbled by a strained left hamstring and unable to play, the Heat trailed by 19 late in the fourth quarter.

HOUSTON — James Harden scored 35 points, including an off-balance layup with 9 seconds left, to lead Houston past winless Philadelphia.
The Sixers led by one point before Michael Carter-Williams bounced the ball off his foot and out of bounds to give Houston the ball. Harden powered through the lane to hit the game-winner.
Philadelphia had a chance to win it at the buzzer, but Carter-Williams missed a jump shot.

NEW ORLEANS — Jrue Holiday missed one shot while scoring 24 points through three quarters, and New Orleans set several offensive franchise records.
The Pelicans’ point total, 56 made field goals, 66.7 percent shooting and 48-point margin of victory all set new franchise records for a game. Their 15 made 3-pointers tied a franchise high.

NEW YORK — Trey Burke made a jumper from the corner as time expired to help Utah overcome a 46-point effort from New York’s Carmelo Anthony.
Anthony’s 3-pointer with 2.3 seconds left tied it at 100 and lifted the Knicks to the century mark for the first time this season. But Burke caught the ball near the Jazz bench, faded back and nailed the jumper before stepping back over the sideline into hugs from his teammates.

INDIANAPOLIS — Ty Lawson had 11 points and 10 assists, and Denver got its first road win of the season.
Denver had seven players score in double figures in just its second victory of the season. Arron Afflalo scored 10 of his 17 points in the first half, and rookie Gary Harris and Wilson Chandler each finished with 13 points.
The Nuggets outscored the Pacers 34-19 in the second quarter and led by as many as 32 points. Denver shot 49 percent (43 of 87) from the floor.

ORLANDO, Fla. — Tobias Harris had 26 points and 10 rebounds to lead Orlando.
Victor Oladipo returned to Orlando’s lineup as the Magic earned their 17th consecutive home win against Milwaukee. Oladipo, who suffered a facial fracture right before the season started, scored 13 points in 25 minutes.
