The Warriors (3-1 overall, 1-0 BIIF) have had a lot to cheer about lately. The Waveriders — not so much.
During a three-game winning streak, Kamehameha has outscored their opponents 119-6, getting contibutions from nearly the entire roster.
Meanwhile, the Waveriders (0-3, 0-1) are reeling after three straight losses by a combined 100-37 and have yet to find a semblance of consistency on the offensive side of the ball.
Honokaa at Hilo
Friday, 7:30 p.m.
The Dragons (2-0, 1-0) are excited to be facing someone other than Waiakea after beating the Warriors away and at home, but the Vikings (2-0, 1-0) are a different animal, scoring 132 points in two games.
The touchdown tracker on Hilo senior running back Kahale Huddleston stands at 10 and counting, including three kickoff returns for score.
Riding a big game from Sheltyn Carvalho and the defense, Honokaa made enough plays on offense last Friday in a 25-8 victory.
Coach Noeau Lindsey knows his team will need to execute more consistently against the Vikings at Wong Stadium.
Keaau at Konawaena

Fully loaded, the Wildcats found their groove in a lopsided 46-16 season opening win over cross-town rival Kealakehe last week.
Quarterback Austin Ewing put on a five-touchdown show, as the Wildcats racked up nearly 500 yards of offense. Tyler Libarios and Chauncey Mariani-Louis emerged as weapons, each finding the end zone multiple times.
The Wildcats (1-2, 1-0) will look to replicate that performance to notch their first home win of the season against the visiting Division I Cougars.
Keaau (0-1, 0-1) is coming off a 40-6 loss to Kamehameha-Hawaii last week and face another tough test in Kealakekua.
Junior Santiago provided the bright spot for the Cougars in the loss, rushing for over 100 yards. While the Wildcats allowed a pair of 200-yard rushers in two preseason games, a revitalized defensive unit stuffed the Kealakehe running game and will likely make life tough for the Cougs ground game.
HPA at Waiakea
1 p.m. Saturday
The Warriors (1-3, 0-1) open a rare four-game homestand, and they could especially use a win this week with Hilo, Kamehameha and Konawaena to follow.
Waiakea’s defense played well at times last week at Honokaa, but it couldn’t make key stops when it counted.
After getting run over by Hilo last week, Ka Makani (1-1, 0-1) figure to be in for a much better matchup.
Eight-man
Ka’u at Kohala
Saturday, 1 p.m.
This was the matchup to watch during the first three years of BIIF eight-man, but this time around Ka‘u (0-1, 0-1) and Kohala (0-1, 0-0) is trying to keep pace with Pahoa, which beat the Trojans 32-8 last week in the only league game to date.
The Cowboys haven’t played since a lopsided loss to Molokai two weeks ago.
