Sometimes people see double.
On Sunday in Waimea, Kaneohe was hitting double.
Kaneohe hit three RBI doubles in the fourth inning as part of a nine-run burst, and the squad clinched a spot in the Little League Baseball state minors tournament championship game with a 13-4 win over fellow Oahu squad Waipio.
Winning pitcher Tiger Yonamine went 3-for-3 at the plate, including a two-run double in the decisive fourth inning. He also went four innings, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out four.
Waipio will play in today’s losers bracket game against Hilo at 4 p.m. The tournament is for players ages 9-10.
Isaiah Knight hit a two-run double in the fourth, and Austyn Acosta added an RBI double. Connor Lopes went 2-for-4 with a triple.
For Waipio, Kailyn Barrett hit a double, and Cayden Okada added a two-run triple. Okada took the loss, giving up six runs on five hits in one inning of work.

c Hilo 8, Aiea 3: Hilo got a complete game from Jaystin Lewi and never trailed while advancing to the tournament semifinal.
Lewi struck out two while giving up three runs on five hits. Kue Martin went 2-for-4 with an RBI double in the fourth inning, when Hilo expanded a 1-0 lead to 5-0.
Kahiau Vincent went 3-for-4, Devez Aniol went 2-for-2, and Kilohana Haasenritter went 2-for-2 with a triple and an RBI.
For Aiea, Shane Ota, Trey Depont and Noa Moniz hit an RBI double apiece, and Kyle Hyun added a double.
Josh Canosa suffered the loss. He pitched 4 1⁄3 innings and allowed all eight runs.
