Iolani claims sixth straight Division II state football title

Behind Reece Foy’s 26-yard touchdown pass to Tanner Nishioka with 1 minute, 53 seconds remaining, Iolani beat Lahainaluna 36-33 Friday at Aloha Stadium to win its sixth consecutive Hawaii High School Athletic Association Division II state football championship.

Foy completed 22 of 36 passes for 299 yards and five touchdowns for the Raiders, who finished 9-3.

Nishioka caught eight passes for 134 yards and two scores.

The Lunas ended their season 9-2 despite rushing for 449 yards. Three Lahainaluna players rushed for 100 yards or more: Sophomore quarterback Makoa Filikitonga-Lukela (110), sophomore running back Jared Rocha-Islas (106) and junior running back Christian Whitehead (102).
