Junior Tiana Reynolds scored 15 points, and sophomore Ula Brostek added 14 on Wednesday night as HPA used a big fourth quarter to break open a tight game and beat Ka’u 47-34 in Waimea.
Ka Makani (5-4) advanced to face Kamehameha-Hawaii (7-3) at 3 p.m. Friday in the BIIF semifinals at Kealakehe High School.

c Kohala 49, Pahoa 44: Senior Sheana Cazimero scored 13 points and junior Hauoli Sproat-Lancaster added 10 as the Cowgirls won on the road in the first round of the BIIF Division II playoffs.
Kohala (3-6) will face Honokaa (6-2) at 4:30 p.m. Friday in the semifinals at Kealakehe High School. The Dragons won the teams’ two regular-season meetings by a combined 90 points.
Randi Berinobis scored a game-high 17 points for the Daggers (2-9).
