Willie Ferreira Jr.
Willie Tavares Ferreira Jr., 78, of Hilo died Jan. 15, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Jan. 6, 1935, in Pepeekeo, he was businessman, salesman, owner of Willie’s Tire Service, retired from Willocks Construction Co. and member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo, Young Men Institute, The Ancient Order of Forester of Court Mauna Kea No. 8854 and Portuguese Cultural Club in Hilo.
Friends may call at 8 a.m. Jan. 31 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10:30 a.m. Mass. Burial is at Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section). Family requests casual attire be worn.
He is survived by wife, Shirley Ferreira of Hilo; sons, Arnold (Sarah) Ferreira of Hilo, Carl (Ellen) Ferreira of Bakersfield, Calif., Patrick Ferreira of Santa Rosa, Calif.; brother, Harold Ferreira of Paukaa; sisters, Loretta Kim of Hilo, Lucille (John) Scarborough of Mississippi; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
