Betty Beatriz Cruz Jumalon, 80, of Keaau died Aug. 15, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born April 1, 1933, in Manila, Philippines, she was a retired room service inspector, homemaker and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. Sept. 10 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10 a.m. service. Burial follows at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima section. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.

She is survived by son, Jose Ramos of Honolulu; daughters, Matilda Jumalon of Hilo, Michelle Germano of Kailua-Kona; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Wade Wilson

Wade K. Wilson, 65, of Keaau died Aug. 30, 2013, at home. Born in Pahala, he was a supervisor for Hawaiian Electric Light Co. and member of Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Alu Like.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. Sept. 13 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 6:30 p.m. service. Cremation follows. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by wife, Mabel Wilson of Hawaiian Paradise Park; sons, Edward Wilson of Opihikao, Scott (Erika) Wilson, Leslie (Cheri) Wilson, Shane Wilson, and Kekoa Wilson, all of Hawaiian Paradise Park; mother, Margaret Wilson-Perez of Hawaiian Beaches; brother, Duke Wilson of Maui; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Rose Alip

Rose V. Alip, 71, of Kailua-Kona died Aug. 20, 2013, at Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu. Born in Waipio Valley, she was a retired paramedical assistant at Hilo Medical Center, a former bus driver and member of the Kona 1st Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. Sept. 14 at Honokaa Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for an 11 a.m. service. Burial follows at Honokaa County Cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn.

Laurie Lei Quintal Araujo-Stuebgen, 60, of Pahoa died Aug. 31, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Jan. 1, 1953, in Honolulu, she was the proprietor of Laurie Leis Laminates and a former bartender at Hale Inu, Town & Country and the Green Door.

Lenora Kaaukai

Lenora K. “Nora” a.k.a. Elizabeth Akiona Kaaukai, 73, of Puueopaku died Sept. 3, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Oct. 31, 1939, in Hilo, she was an assistant baker at the former Hatada Bakery in Hilo and member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou.

Friends may call at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 14 at Haili Church in Hilo for a 9:30 a.m. service. Family requests aloha attire be worn. Flower lei are welcome. A private urn committal will be held at a later date.

Albert Malakaua

Albert Nailima Malakaua, 88, of Keaukaha died Aug. 18, 2013, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hilo, he was a retired tour bus driver, Army veteran and an elder of the Waiakea Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Dolly Jane Davis Stevens, 60, of Waimea died July 30, 2013, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Pahala, she was a homemaker, caregiver and a pastor of New Beginnings Assembly of God Church.

Annie Kahiilani Kaniho, 78, of Lahaina, Maui, died Sept. 2, 2013, at her home in Kihei, Maui. Born Jan. 27, 1935, in Puunene, Maui, she was retired from the Royal Lahaina Hotel.

Ralph Benoit, 91, of Hilo died Aug. 26, 2013. Born in Massachusetts, he was retired from the civil service.

Sen Woo Fang

Sen Woo Fang, 81, of Mountain View died Aug. 17, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Nov. 8, 1931, in China, he was the proprietor of Fang Pacific Nursery and member of the Hawaii Tea Society.

Services have been held. Family requests no monetary donations.

He is survived by sons, James Yen Jen (Wei) Fang and Yen Wen (Mei Chiao) Fang, both of Mountain View; brothers, Sen Ming Fang and Sen Xia Fang, both of China; sister, Bi Yuen Fang of China; one granddaughter; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Orvis Knowlton

Orvis A. Knowlton, 75, of Hilo died, Aug. 17, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Sept. 4, 1938, in Portland, Ore., he was a retired auto mechanic at Antonio’s Auto Repair Shop in Hilo.

Terumi “Teri” Nakahara, 77, of Hilo died Aug. 24, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a data entry operator for KTA Super Stores and member of Puna Hongwanji Mission and Hauoli Kumiai.

She is survived by daughter, Glynis (Van Okamura) Nakahara of San Francisco; brothers, Edward (Helen) Oshiba of Harbor City, Calif., Masaaki Oshiba and Yoshito Oshiba, both of Hilo; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Hannah Hirata

Hannah Miyako Hirata, 92, formerly of Ookala and Ahualoa died Aug. 4, 2013, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born June 17, 1921, in Honaunau, she was a housewife, lauhala weaver, seamstress and member of Paauilo Kongoji Mission.

She is survived by brother, Mikio Isu of Honaunau; sisters, Betty Nishibun of Pearl City, Oahu, Betty (Kenneth) Ebata of Honokaa, Loretta Kitaoka of Captain Cook; numerous nieces and nephews.

James Juzo Masuko, 96, of Hilo died Aug. 15, 2013, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Waimalu, Oahu, he was a retired longshoreman for HT&T and tour driver for the former Slim Holt Tours.
