Monico Agarpao Lahip, 99, of Hilo, died Nov. 12 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. Born April 27, 1913, in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a retired maintenance worker and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.
Friends may call at 5 p.m. Nov. 23 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 7 p.m. wake service. Friends may call at 11 a.m. Nov. 24 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a noon Mass. Burial is at Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section). Family requests casual attire be worn.
He is survived by son, Anacleto (Francisca) Lahip of Hilo; daughters, Monica Tagaca and Josie (James) Chow Hoy, both of Hilo, Cion (Rizal) Asuncion of Honolulu; brothers, Marcelo (Lawriana) Lahip of Sarrat, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, Leandro (Maria) Lahip of Pangasinan, Philippines; sister, Pilar (Maximiano) Ganotisi of Tuguegarao, Philippines; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
